Network Device Registration (Computers, Phones, Tablets, etc.)
About Network Registration
Registration is required for every computer and networked device that connects to the Pomona College wired (ethernet), and the PomonaCollege and Pomona wireless networks. Registration assists in maintaining network security and provides contact information for computers on the network. Students must re-register their computers and other networked devices every semester.
Notes:
- Registrations of student devices are cleared out so upon the start of each new semester; they will need to be re-register.
- All other devices (faculty, staff, research labs, etc.) that are turned off or are off campus for over 3 months will need to be re-registered.
The first time your computer is plugged into the Pomona network (by ethernet or using the PomonaCollege or Pomona wireless network), you will be re-routed to a registration page. Registering your computer helps ITS keep the network safe for all users. Please read the campus's registration page for more information.
Typically, a computer that is not registered on the network will bring up the Registration web page when you start a web browser on your computer. You will not be able to access the Internet or network resources until you have successfully completed the registration process. Unregistered computers will be able to contact a select number of websites in order to assist you in updating software to meet the system requirements.
