How to use the Staples & Hole Punch option of Canon Copiers
Note:
Most Canon Copiers on campus come with Finishing options such as stapling and hole-punching and more. Please see the Macintosh and Windows instructions below for details on how to use these Finishing features.
Macintosh
To use the Staple and/or hole-punching option of a Canon Copier on a Macintosh computer, do the following:
- In any application, go to the File menu and select Print.
- In the Print window, scroll to the Finishing option and click on the 🛈 icon (see image directly below for help).
- Change the Staple option from Off to On.
Note:
- You can change the staple position using the 'Position' options.
- For the hole-punch option, click on the 'Misc. Finishing Modes' button.
- Click 'OK' and then 'Print' to send the print job to the copier.
Windows
To use the Staple and/or hole-punching option of a Canon Copier on a Macintosh computer, do the following:
- In any application, go to the File menu and select Print.
- In the Print window, select the Canon Copier if not already the default.
Then, click on the small 'Printer Properties' link on the left (see image directly below for help).
- Click on the Finishing tab.
- Change the Finishing option from 'Collate' to 'Staple + Collate'.
Note:
- You can change the staple position using the 'Staple Position' button.
- For the hole-punch option, click on the 'Hole Punch' option.
- Click 'OK' and then 'Print' to send the print job to the copier.
