Trouble printing PDF from Outlook for Windows (only a log file is created)
Problem
When printing an Outlook email using the 'Adobe PDF' printer, all that is produced is *.log file.
The log file might have the following information in it:
%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
Aptos not found, using Courier.
%%[ Error: invalidfont; OffendingCommand: show ]%%
Environment
- Outlook for Windows
- Adobe Acrobat installed, allow with 'Adobe PDF' printer.
Solution

Steps:
- Click on the search menu (magnifying glass icon) and type 'Printers & scanners'. Then, press the Enter key on your keyboard.
- Click on the 'Adobe PDF' listing and click on 'Manage' (see image below for help).
- Click on the 'Printer properties' link.
- Click on 'Preferences' under the 'Geneal' tab.
- On the 'Adobe PDF Settings' tab, uncheck 'Rely on system fonts only' option and click 'Apply' and then 'OK'.
Printing the email to PDF should work now.
