My Interactive Sessions
Managing Your Sessions
Accessing Active Sessions:
- To oversee all your ongoing interactive OnDemand sessions, click on “My Interactive Sessions” located in the top navigation bar.
- To access a particular session, hit the blue “Connect to…” button on the respective session's panel. This will launch the session in a new browser tab.
Sharing Desktop Sessions:
- For Desktop-based applications, there's an option to let others view your active session. Right-click the “View Only” button situated at the lower right corner of the session's panel and choose “Copy Link Address”. You can share this link, allowing others to view your session in real time. Please note that "View Only" ensures viewers cannot interact with the session (e.g., no mouse movement or keyboard input).
Session Tools & Options:
- While your session is in queue, you'll see the “Time Requested” displayed. Once it's running, the “Time Remaining” becomes visible.
- Clicking on the “Session ID:” link will direct you to the session's dedicated folder in the File Explorer in a new tab. Similarly, clicking the blue “Host:” button opens a terminal-specific to the session's node in a separate tab.
- For Desktop applications, two adjustable sliders control the Compression and Image Quality of the session's display. By default, these are set to 6 (for Compression) and 2 (for Image Quality). Typically, it's best to leave them as is, adjusting only if there are issues with display quality or responsiveness.
Ending a Session:
- Terminate any session by pressing the red “Delete” button on its panel. Remember, even if you log out of OnDemand or shut down all browser tabs, your sessions will remain active and consume resources until their specified duration is over. It's crucial to end sessions you no longer need to conserve computational resources.
