Run a full Microsoft Defender scan on Pomona College owned Macs
The enterprise version of Microsoft Defender has been installed on all Pomona College owned computers.
If you suspect a Mac is infected with a virus/malware, please do this:
- In the Finder menu at the top, click on the Microsoft Defender icon and select 'Open Microsoft Defender'.

- In the window that opens, click on the 'Scan Options' button.

- In the Scan Options section, select 'Full scan'. Then, click on the 'Scan Now' button.
Depending on the size of the size on the amount of data on it, the scan may take several minutes to several hours to complete.
Microsoft Defender will provide instructions on what to do if malware is found.
