VPN Access (Windows and Mac)
A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, such as the Internet. It enables a computer to send and receive data across networks as if it is directly connected to the private network, while benefiting from the functionality, security and management policies of the private network. A VPN is created by establishing a virtual point-to-point connection through the use of dedicated connections, virtual tunneling protocols, or traffic encryption.
Note:
Pomona College VPN cannot be accessed while connected to the Pomona College network (ethernet or Pomona wireless).
To install the Cisco Secure Connect VPN software:
- Download and install the VPN software from http://anyconnect.pomona.edu.
- Open the Anyconnect software and add anyconnect.pomona.edu for the connection address (see image below) and click 'Connect'.
- Sign in using your Pomona College username inform of username@pomona.edu (faculty or staff) or username@mymail.pomona.edu (students) and password.
